7 restaurants to enjoy wine and cheese in Liverpool

Cheese board and bottle of Chablis anyone?

We’re finally enjoying a decent summer this year and what better way to enjoy the late afternoon sunshine or post work nibble, than with a fine wine and cheese in Liverpool?

Liverpool is fast becoming a foodie destination in itself and now with more artisan wine bars, restaurants and street food vendors, you dine on cuisine from around the world, all in one destination. We’re firm fans of a loaded cheese board here at The Guide Liverpool HQ.

Who can say no to freshly baked crackers, celery sticks, all manner of chutney and of course a good wedge of the gooey stuff? Whether you’re all about the Brie, prefer a slice of Manchego or a big old chunk of homemade cheddar, we’ve got something for you.

The wine is airing, the table is set, now all you need to do is pick your favourite from our top 7 restaurants to enjoy wine and cheese in Liverpool……

1 – Baby E Coffee & Deli, Dale Street

Baby E Coffee & Deli has teamed up with Cultural Wines and The Cheese Larder to offer a range of delicious pintox which is perfect for after work sharing! Or why not head out on the patio at lunch and tuck into The Ploughman Board, loaded with strong mature cheddar and extras. Click here to see what’s new at the deli.

2 – Lunyalita, Royal Albert Dock

Newly opened, Lunyalita offers diners the chance to enjoy a vast array of Catalonia’s finest cheese and wines, with an unrivalled view of the stunning dock. Cheese and Wine tasting events are filling up fast too. More info here.

3 – Veeno, Castle Street

If Parmigiano Dop (The King of Italian Cheese) mozzarella or gorgonzola and a rich glass of red is your thing, head to Veeno on Castle Street for a cheese sharing board that’s packed with flavour. Preview the menu here.

4 – The Club House, Liverpool ONE

Just looking at that perfectly baked, gooey Camembert, granary croutons and Braeburn apple slices makes us drool! The Club House Liverpool ONE invite you to sit outside, soak up the sun and pretend you’re in the south of France. Red or White madam? More sharing boards and menu here.

5 – Delifonseca, Stanley Street

Delifonseca offers not only mouth-watering cheese boards with a selection of accompaniments (how gorgeous does that scotch egg look!) but also a deli bursting with wines and cheese that you can take home and enjoy too. Click here to see what’s in store.

6 – Lock & Key, Duke Street

Lock & Key, Duke Street has a great bar menu that is perfect for picking, sharing and indulging in some after work gossip and also makes a great date idea. Order the Antipasto platter and a bottle of Malbec and chat til last orders. Menus and more here.

7 – Baltic Market

It’s safe to say that summer 2017 was the summer of Halloumi Fries and only Halfa Halfa at Baltic Market could keep us coming back on the regular for another hit. These pots of fried halloumi come topped with fresh mint and garlic yoghurt, or how about salt n pepper ones…..or pomegranate and tomato! Nip the bar for a vino and order your favourite combo! More info here.
