Churrasco Steakhouse: 2-Courses £19.95

Churrasco now has two venues in Liverpool – Liverpool ONE and Aigburth Road. They have won awards based on the quality of their steaks, and they serve everything beef plus great sides and fabulous starters. 

We know they do fantastic steaks, but their Nduja Mac & Cheese is phenomenal and a must try! Their 2-Course lunch offer is available mid-week and Sunday afternoons.

A beautiful location for lunch in Liverpool, especially when you can sit outside on a nice sunny day. The restaurant has a great reputation for good friendly service, and are known for going the extra mile.

The menu is ever changing and they pride themselves on the freshness of their produce. Featured here is their Moules Frites, a fresh and light dish perfect to stopper that lunchtime belly rumble.

East River: The Big Schnitz – £15.95

East River on Allerton Road has been a firm favourite with the locals since its opening in 2019. The restaurant has been inspired by the cocktail bars and delicatessens of Manhattan’s Lower East Side. 

The Big Schnitz – whole crispy sesame chicken breast, bacon, lettuce, tomato, pickles, hot sauce, harissa mayo and latkas on two slabs of French toast. This mega toastie is going to set you up for the day, make sure you have the appetite because it is huge!

Big Lola’s Taqueria: Beef Brisket Tacos – £7.50 for two

Big Lola’s Taqueria is a Mexican inspired taco shop based in Duke Street Market, and more recently they have opened their own store on Smithdown road. This concept has come from the guys behind Cahita who are famous for their Cubano sandwiches in Duke Street Market. 

They have taken inspiration from San Francisco’s Latino Mission District and are serving up Mexican street food dishes. The Beef Brisket Tacos are loaded with slow cooked beef brisket with spring onion crema, pickled red onion and corn crumb – Delicious!

Free State Kitchen: Buffalo Fried Chicken Burger – £13.95

Free State Kitchen serves a contemporary twist on American classics, with quality, locally sourced produce at the heart of their menu. They have regular specials on the menu so make sure you keep an eye out for these. 

They are famous for their Double French Onion Burger which has won awards, so let us tell you about another must try on the menu… their Buffalo Fried Chicken Burger is magic – fried buttermilk chicken thigh with Franks Hot Sauce, mayo, lettuce and tomato – so simple, but packed with flavour.

River North: Sunday Lunch – from £14.95

Is this cheating? It’s still lunch right? River North do a fantastic Sunday Lunch Menu. There’s something for everyone at River North. Their dishes are made with love, combined with the freshest ingredients from their local suppliers. 

From the giant Yorkshire pudding to the gravy – they really have nailed a good quality roast.

Tapas Revolution: Croquetas De Jamón – £6.50

These guys serve outstanding quality products, freshly cooked and using ingredients directly sourced from Spanish suppliers to ensure their tapas, vinos and cervezas are the very best Spain has to offer. 

The croquetas de jamón are crispy on the outside and deliciously creamy on the inside. You can get three plates for £18 Monday-Friday from 12.00pm-6.00pm.

Rudy’s Pizza: Burrata – £6.90

For Rudy’s it’s all about the pizza. Just like in Naples, their dough is made on site every day, takes 24-hours to double ferment and just 60 seconds to cook. It is soft, light and floppy. They have two stores in Liverpool – Bold Street and Castle Street.

We have to give a shout out to their burrata – so creamy – accompanied with fresh sourdough bread, rocket and beautifully seasoned cherry tomatoes.

Caribou Poutine: Maple Fried Chicken Poutine – £7.75

Poutine is the ultimate Canadian comfort food – fries, cheese curds & homemade signature gravy with a variety of amazing meat and veggie toppings, what is not to love? Caribou Poutine are now located on Hardman Street serving their signature dishes as well as some sweet treats. 

Their Maple Fried Chicken Poutine can put a smile on your face with every mouthful. This is definitely a “winner winner…” if you’re on the hunt for lunch in Liverpool.

The Watering Can: Chicken Supreme Gnocchi – £15.95

These guys won the Liverpool’s Hidden Gem award at this years Liverpool Tourism Awards. The cafe/bistro in Greenbank Park prides themselves on being a LGBTQ+ safe space and serving their homemade fresh food.

Their Chicken Supreme Gnocchi dish is explosive with flavour, the marsala wine cream sauce is phenomenal. It is a tasty and rich dish that you have to try next time you are there.
