It’s been a while since comedian Jason Manford was last out on the road with his stand-up but now Salford’s finest is back with a massive UK and European tour that stops at the Arena on Saturday. Expect his take on world events (Putin and Phil & Holly are likely to be on the hitlist) and just the funny side of regular life.

The Scousetrap has opened at Liverpool’s Royal Court

It’s a great week if you fancy a laugh because the Royal Court is delivering loads of them with its latest show The Scousetrap. If Agatha Christie had been from Anfield, this is what we might have had instead of the famous Mousetrap. Eithne Browne is among the cast as Miss Inga Marble attempts to thwart a dastardly German plot in 1940 Liverpool. On until October 29.

Tuck into the new menu at Mamasan in Liverpool ONE

Mamasan’s the place to go for incredible southeast Asian dishes and now there’s a new a la carte menu created by a new head chef, Scouser Jason Tuddenham. Look out for some very special mains including shrimp and soft-shell crab burger and caramelised black cod, plus a showstopping whole lobster fondue sharer.

There’s a new live music night at Art School Cellars on Thursday

It’s no secret that the Art School is one of the best fine dining restaurants in the city, and now the intimate Art School Cellars below has a new Acoustic Live Night with amazing music, great drinks, and a fantastic atmosphere. It’s on every Thursday from 6pm and you can enjoy some tasty Cellars plates while you listen.

Celebrate Harry Styles at Camp and Furnace on Saturday

Harry Styles is having a bit of a moment, what with the 15-night Madison Square Garden sell-out and his film Don’t Worry Darling, so there’s never been a better time to celebrate him. Camp and Furnace pays homage to all things Harry with a party night crammed with hits, movie moments, video bits and classic 1D throwbacks.

Watch new play Billion Times I Love You at the Everyman

A Billion Times I Love You, supported by Homotopia, is a brilliant original new play which follows the up and down journey of love, via break-ups and make-ups, in one couple’s search for queer romance. It’s on from this Tuesday until October 8 and on Friday September 30 there’s an exclusive gig by Liverpool-based band Crawlers after the show.

A Midsummer Night’s Dream comes to Shakespeare North Playhouse

It’s the first production to be staged in the stunning cockpit theatre so it’s only right that one of Shakespeare’s best-known comedies is given a riotous refresh. This production features the voice of Liverpool actor David Morrissey as Oberon and Mercury-nominated singer-songwriter Nadine Shah makes her theatre debut as Titania. On until October 22.

It’s entering the last month of the Doctor Who exhibition at World Museum

This interactive exhibition is a must-see for all fans of the Doctor – and if you’ve already been, you might still want to go back before it ends on October 30. Doctor Who Worlds of Wonder explores the adventures of our favourite time traveller with original artefacts, sets, costumes and props, and reveals more about the science behind the long-running show.

Go conker hunting with the little ones at Speke Hall

You know autumn’s here when the leaves all turn red and gold, and the conkers start dropping from the trees. Be mesmerised by Swan Lake at Liverpool Empire

Probably the most famous and most beautiful ballet ever created, English National Ballet brings Swan Lake to the Empire from this Wednesday until Saturday October 1. Get your steps in at Wirral Country Park

If the weather’s looking decent then it’s a good chance to get outdoors and get some exercise in to balance out a bit of sofa and telly time later. Head to Wirral Country Park and you’ll have some lovely views of the Dee Estuary, see the bird life and get away from it all with a walk or cycle along the Wirral Way.
