The iconic Spoilt For Choice sandwich and salad bar is back in Southport this week.

Customers will be able to enjoy many of the things which have made the venue so popular over the years, along with some exciting new additions.

Spoilt For Choice, on London Street in Southport town centre, has been taken over by local entrepreneur Steve Richards.

Over the past year Steve has transformed the nearby Southport Tavern pub, also on London Street, having previously impressed visitors to The Spitfire pub in Ainsdale.

Now he’s excited to have reopened the sandwich shop, which has been a regular haunt for shoppers, local workers, and college students for many years.

Steve said:

“We are really excited to be re-opening Spoilt For Choice. It had such a fantastic reputation when it was owned by Glenn Clark for 25 years. When he sold it a year ago it was renamed I was really keen to re-open the shop with the famous Spoilt For Choice name.

“The thing that pleases me most is that we have been able to keep the same Spoilt For Choice team I don’t think I would have taken on this challenge if that hadn’t been the case. We have four of the team who have worked here previously, two of whom have worked here for over 15 years. They are fantastic people to work with.

“I have spoken regularly with Glenn and have been grateful for his support and his advice. There has been a fantastic response since we started work and brought back the Spoilt For Choice name. We will have all of the popular items on the menu; and will also bring back some of the old favourites that had disappeared. In a couple of weeks’ time we will introduce some new things too.

“People will be able to buy freshly baked pies and sausage rolls, which they will also be able to buy chilled so they can bake them at home. We will have some delicious home-made cake for customers to enjoy. We are working hard to be able to give people more choice than ever before.

“We are reducing the prices and will offer 10% discounts for local college students and Blue Light Card holders. We will offer discounts to transport workers, taxi drivers and rail staff. Initially we will open from 6.30am-2.30pm Monday to Friday. We are not opening on Saturdays initially, but will be opening on Saturdays in a couple of weeks’ time.

“We are looking forward to welcoming everyone to Spoilt For Choice.”
