Liverpool MakeFest set to celebrate 10 years of creativity at Central Library
7 hours ago

Liverpool MakeFest returns on Saturday 5 July for its 10th anniversary, promising a vibrant, hands-on celebration of creativity, innovation, and imagination.
From 9am to 5pm, every floor of the library will be buzzing with activity as makers, artists, and performers from across the UK come together to inspire the next generation of creatives.
And what’s more, it’s all FREE!
This year’s theme, ‘History’, will be brought to life through interactive workshops, live demonstrations, fascinating exhibitions, and cutting-edge tech like 3D printing.
Families can enjoy a full day of free, educational fun — from sea shanties by the Port Sunlight Sea Dogs, to the rhythmic energy of Luma Creations’ Comparsa La Bomba and the Wirral Drummers.
And keep an eye out — a Dalek may be on patrol, ready to quiz unsuspecting visitors!
Get your free tickets from the Eventbrite website.
The event also marks the launch of the Summer Reading Challenge by Liverpool City Council’s Libraries team, encouraging children and families to dive into a nature-themed literary adventure.
Liverpool City Council’s Cabinet Member for Health, Wellbeing and Culture, Councillor Harry Doyle, said:
“Liverpool MakeFest is a brilliant celebration of creativity in all its forms — from tech and science to art and performance.
“It’s a fantastic way to bring people together, spark curiosity, and showcase the incredible talent we have both locally and nationally.
“I’m thrilled to see it return for its 10th year, and I can’t wait to see what this year’s ‘History’ theme inspires.
“It always proved to be a massively popular event so I encourage families to get there free tickets as soon as possible.”
