Liverpool Baby Hospice, Zoe’s Place is hosting its first ever Dragon Boat Race this weekend.
It is set to be a thrilling day on the water, filled with racing, entertainment and family fun. All to raise vital funds for the hospice.
Taking place at Liverpool Watersports Centre at Queens Dock, the day is set to be fun from start to finish. There will be 15 Dragon Boat teams taking part, representing businesses and organisations from all over the city including Home Bargains, Paramount Digital and Have a Word, to name a few – plus a team made up of Liverpool Zoe’s Place staff and families. Teams competing will be getting in the spirit with fancy dress costumes and creative headwear with prizes for the best costumes up for grabs!
Liverpool Zoe’s Place supporters are encouraged to come down to cheer on the teams and enjoy what will be a great family fun day. There will be live entertainment from the legendary Johnny Bongo and friends, as well as fun games going on and food and drink stalls to keep everyone going.
Matt Meany, Head of Fundraising for Liverpool Zoe’s Place said:
“We would love to see lots of our supporters down at the Dragon Boat race, it’s set to be a spectacular day of fun, racing and community spirit and everyone is invited to come along, cheer and help us just have a memorable, fun day!”
All the money raised on the day will go directly to Liverpool Zoe’s Place, supporting babies and young children with life-limiting and complex conditions. The charity will soon start its transition to a new name of Little Lights Baby Hospice with a brand-new, purpose built hospice. More news will be coming soon on this exciting next chapter of Liverpool Zoe’s Place.
