Adult care home to breathe new life into empty Aintree hospital building
6 years ago
The launch of a new adult care home in Fazakerley, Liverpool is set to create more than 150 jobs in the local area as it takes up residence on the grounds of Aintree hospital.
The latest home to be opened by specialist nurse-led care providers, Exemplar, Brook View will officially open its doors in spring 2019.
Previously a care home for 60 elderly residents, Exemplar Health Care is almost halving the number of bedrooms from 60 to 32 in order to create the best environment possible. When complete, the home will provide care for up to 32 younger adults with a range of complex nursing needs including neuro-disability, brain injury and stroke, mental health conditions and complex dementia.
A multi-disciplinary team including specialist nurses, support workers and therapists will work closely with consultants, GPs, health professionals and mental health teams across the North West to make every day better for residents. The services provided at Brook View form part of a pathway of care options for those individuals who are looking to move into more independent and community based living.
Euan Craig, Chief Executive of Exemplar Health Care, said: “We are so excited for the chance to unveil our new home to the community. The building has been empty for some time and needed a serious overhaul to meet the needs of our residents – we have almost completely rebuilt the home and soon we will have a space everyone can be proud of. It will be wonderful to welcome our first residents in spring.”
