There was a seriously chic soiree on North John Street on Thursday as NYL Restaurant & Bar launched the world’s first Liverpool Collection Cocktail list.

Based on the city’s maritime heritage of the 1790’s, when Liverpool was at the heart of world shipping and goods such as rum, whisky, tobacco and sugar arrived from the new world, the Liverpool Collection Cocktails are tantalisingly fresh with a nostalgic twist.

Featuring the Liverpool ‘Fab Four’, Liverpool Gin, Whisky, Vodka and Rum, the stunning NYL Restaurant & Bar, housed in the former Royal Insurance Building on North John Street was the place to be on Thursday evening as invited guests we’re the first to try out the 9 brand new concoctions and with names dedicated to scouse culture such as ‘The Berry Bevy’ and ‘Liverpool Lolly’, we’re sure there’s a mix for everyone to enjoy.

The fun didn’t stop there. With live music and canapés from the brand new menu launching next month, guests were also treated to a slice of stylish New York, right in the heart of Liverpool. The venue lends itself to all day dining perfectly with its comfortable yet cool decor and transitions smoothly into a chic nightlife hot spot with a mezzanine level and booth style seating. Cocktails with the girls, a business lunch, afternoon tea with your folks or an intimate date, NYL Restaurant & Bar accommodates them all with a bit of added glamour.

1 – Liverpool Sunset

There’s nothing like watching the sun go down over the Liverbirds and this mixture of Liverpool Valencian Orange Gin, Chambord, egg white, lemon and raspberry is bound to give you a warm feeling too.

2 – Vanilla Mersey

We reckon this silky smooth mixture of Liverpool Vodka, chocolate liqueur, double cream, vanilla and cinnamon is going to be a huge hit in the autumn, a hot chocolate for grown ups!

3 – Liverpool Lolly

This cocktail is genuinely served up with a ice-lolly in the glass. Loaded with Liverpool Rum, strawberry, lime and dipped in prosecco,  we guarantee you’ll Instagram this one before you even taste it!

4 – Dale St Old Fashioned

Now some things are just not meant to be rushed, nor made too fancy and the Dale Street Old Fashioned is exactly that! A perfect mix of Liverpool Whisky and Chambord this drink goes hand in hand with the sophisticated NYL atmosphere.

5 – The Yellow Rummarine
