Mayflower – Duke Street
A Liverpool favourite for decades, Mayflower is known for its authentic Cantonese dishes, roast meats, and salt and pepper dishes.
If you like things spicy, Mayflower’s hot and sour soup is legendary, they also serve some of the best spring rolls in the city.

New Orchid Garden – Eaton Road, West Derby
A local favourite, this Cantonese-Chinese fusion restaurant with second floor lounge bar is most famous for the host of speciality banquet menus.
Featuring dishes like crispy duck and traditional Peking sauce; sliced Cantonese-style fillet steak on a sizzling platter; and fried king prawn in garlic & chilli sauce.
For something a little different, opt for your choice of Hot Pot dishes including fried fish fillet with shredded char siu and vegetables in oyster sauce.
Chamber 36 – Berry Street
This pan-asian, award-winning, cocktail bar offers a superb selection of contemporary dim sum and small plates including king prawn vermicelli wraps and chicken satay skewers.
The lunch & pre-theatre menu gets you three small plates or a starter and main for £15.
Matou – George’s Parade, Pier Head
This contemporary pan-Asian bar and lounge offers spectacular views across the River Mersey and Pier Head from the second floor of the Ferry Terminal Building.
Matou serves alfresco rooftop sharing platters – including the seafood option of grilled scallops, jumbo prawns, and calamari with shrimp cocktail.

Mr Chilli – Seel Street

The menu may well be missing your go-to Chinese favourites – but if you like your food hot and are up for finding some new flavours – Mr Chilli will definitely excite your appetite!
Ying Wah – Woolton Street, Woolton Village
Family owned since 1974, this popular, restaurant is a local gem in Woolton.
There’s an impressive range of dishes including the Dim Sum Platter featuring traditional Sui Mai, deep crispy-fried Won Ton and prawn toast.
We’ve heard great things about the sliced fillet steak in Cantonese sauce!
Tokyo Noodle Bar – Berry Street
This small noodle bar and restaurant offers a laidback atmosphere with a fresh, tasty main menu serving up delicious Japanese and Chinese cuisine.
The menu includes shredded chilli chicken or salt and pepper squid; quick and easy one-bowl noodle dishes including deep-fried tofu in sweet and sour sauce and Szechuan vegetable noodles; along with a choice of delicious soups.
Tiger Rock Hawker – North John Street, Renshaw Street & Smithdown Road

If you are looking for authentic Chinese cuisine with the full banquet experience then this is the place for you.
The menu is filled with delicious Chinese food with lots of veggie and vegan options available too… and in our opinion, the Eastern Diner serves up some of the best Siu Mais in the city… and what Scouser doesn’t love Siu Mais?
Best thing is they deliver to your door as well!
Maggie Fu – Smithdown Road & Hanover Street
Maggie Fu is an independent family-owned restaurant specialising in Asian street food.
They’ve built up a big devoted following – in real life and on Instagram – thanks to dishes like their salt and pepper chicken and super-popular pad thai.
You can eat in on Smithdown Road and Hanover Street… and they deliver too if you fancy a night in.
