A restaurant famous for its gorgeous floral displays has pulled out all the stops for the new season.

Emily’s in Formby is renowned for its stunning exterior and interior, making it  one of the most photographed venues in the region since it opened nearly two years ago.

And the new look for autumn 2024 certainly doesn’t disappoint.

The show-stopping golden display is complete with pumpkins and hay bales, making it the perfect venue for your autumn brunch, lunch or dinner.

Diners are loving the new look which was unveiled earlier this month. On the restaurant’s Facebook page, one person commented: “How beautiful. An absolute gem of a place.” While another remarked: “Stunning! Gonna have to take some photos on those hay bales!” Another Emily’s fan said: “Beautiful colours front of restaurant.”

The autumnal theme continues inside with golden displays throughout the restaurant and the rear indoor garden area, which has a retractable roof, perfect for the warm autumn days we are all hoping will return soon.

Since it opened in November 2022, Emily’s has gained a reputation for great food, a laid-back atmosphere, friendly service and its beautiful botanical theme. The first big Christmas display last year took two days to create and the current autumn display is just as impressive. It has left everyone wondering if they can top it with this year’s festive effort, which we expect to see in late November.

The Formby village venue is a firm favourite with diners and drinkers alike and has become extremely popular for Instagram pictures due to its unique interior design.

Its renovation from bank to bar and restaurant was a very welcome addition to the local dining scene.

But this isn’t a case of all style over substance, with the food served all day gaining a solid reputation, not to mention a very popular cocktail selection.

The brunch menu features classics like smashed avocado toast, steak and eggs and a full breakfast, with meat and vegetarian versions available. You can also opt for Moroccan eggs, eggs Atlantic (with smoked salmon) or for the sweet toothed among us, there are stacks of pancakes or the famous French toast.

In the evening there is a brilliant value early bird dinner of two courses for £25 or three for £29 where you can enjoy starters like salmon fishcake, a main course choice including steak, pasta or fish of the day.

The a la carte menu includes popular steak choices, mains like lamb rump or cod loin and the raspberry Bakewell tart is a perfect autumn dessert. Emily’s also serves a very popular roast on Sundays.

A sister venue called Penelope’s On The Park opened in July, situated in Rotten Row in Birkdale. Set in an historic building, that was once home to the renowned Ho Lee Chow restaurant, it has been renovated to create a similarly gorgeous dining experience. Its pizzas are proving a real hit with diners.

Back in Formby, Emily’s accepts walk ins but it is very popular, so booking is advised, particularly at the weekend.
