Eurovision Daily Tuesday 9th May: Fourteen events taking place today!

The long-awaited Eurovision Song Contest is finally kicking off tonight with its first semi-final, set to take place at The Liverpool Arena.
The excitement is mounting as fans and artists from across the globe descend upon Liverpool, eager to witness the magic of Eurovision unfold on stage. With a line-up of talented performers, extravagant costumes, and unforgettable performances, it’s set to be a night to remember.
There’s 14 events and activities taking place throughout the day. From rooftop parties to screenings of the contest, the city is buzzing with excitement as fans eagerly anticipate tonight’s first semi-final.
One of the most anticipated events is “Night at the Opera” at The Eurovision Village, where our very own Jay Hynd will be hosting the festivities from 11.00am.

Eurovision Village â Night at the Opera
Before screening the first semi-final live, the perfect warm up will be the English National Opera does Eurovision.
This one off performance is going to be iconic as audiences experience Eurovision like never before. The world-renowned ENO Chorus and Orchestra, conducted by Stephen Bell, are joined by former contestants from the Song Contest and international opera stars to perform classical arrangements of some of Eurovisionâs greatest hits.
The Stage will be hosted by our Jay Hynd from 11.00am.

EuroCamp presents⊠The Best and The Wurst of Eurovision
EuroCamp continues today at Chavasse Park – The Best and The Wurst of Eurovision is a jam-packed day of sensational drag and cabaret talent, paying homage to legendary acts and iconic Eurovision moments as they battle it out for ultimate glory.
Hosted by Liverpudlian superstar Ms Sharon Le Grand, with live acts including Ginny Lemon, Don One, Midgitte Bardot, Eat Me, Bolly Illusion and more to be announced. Plus DJs including Lucia Blayke (founder, Trans Pride), sensational finales, oodles of prizes and surprises.
The Best and The Wurst of Eurovision is brought to visitors by Hackney Showroom, award-winning creative producers of theatre and festivals.

EuroâQuizâion for Jamesâ Place!
Jamesâ Place would love you to join us for a pub quiz and evening of fun at Duke Street Marketâs private dining room (upstairs) to raise money for our lifesaving service for men in suicidal crisis and celebrate Eurovision in Liverpool!
Arrive from 18:00, the quiz will start at 7pm, max teams of 6.

Eurovisions XTRAs
National Museums Liverpoolâs XTRA programme is an opportunity to experience our venues and spaces like never before outside our daytime opening hours.
Itâs one of the newest best kept secrets in town, and you wonât want to miss these uniquely curated events inspired by The Song Contest.
Hosted by drag royalty and RuPaul’s Drag Race UK S4 winner Danny Beard. There’s a sensational line up of local artists such as Vogue legends House of Suarez, and local artist/performer Ashleigh Owen who will be treating us to hilarious parodies of well known songs!

Cheer Up! Itâs Eurovision
MDE Eurovision has teamed up with the Cheer Up! events team for a high octane night of pure pop pleasure. This mega mash up sees an energy busting mix of Pop, Dance, SAW, Europop, Eurodance, Schlager and, of course, tunes from Dame Eurovision herself.
They have the amazing Miss Nicki French live on stage at midnight. Nicki first came to prominence in 1995 with her NRG cover of Total Eclipse of the Heart. She went on to represent the UK in Eurovision in 2000, with the song Donât Play That Song Again.

Eurovision Rooftop Party â Blush Rooftop Garden
Liverpoolâs decadent rooftop terrace bar, Blush located will be bringing all the thrills and spills of the Song Contest with their live watch party.
The Seel Street venue will be showcasing both Semi Finals and the Grand Final in the heated rooftop bar, which also includes an a special âAbbaâ themed party.

EuroClub 2023 is the heart and soul of all things Eurovision! Camp and Furnace is the place where we all come together, in celebration of music, diversity and live performance, all under one roof!
They will be showing the semi-final tonight from 6.00pm â 10:30pm (LAST ENTRY 7:45pm).
