Everything we know so far about Jet2 launching from Liverpool

Jet2 will launch from Liverpool in 2024 bringing with it a host of new destinations you can fly to from the city.

It marked a great new step in the growth of Liverpool’s John Lennon Airport when leading airline and tour operator Jet2 announced earlier this year that it was launching flights and holidays from the city base.

It came after huge demand from customers and is a massive boost in confidence for the airport.

Steve Heapy, CEO of Jet2.com and Jet2holidays, said the company had seen a huge demand over the last two years, and added: “There has been a fantastic response to the news.

“We look forward to showcasing our VIP customer service to holidaymakers from John Lennon Airport.”

A spokesperson for Liverpool JLA agreed: “The announcement of Jet2 coming to Liverpool has been really well received with lots of people feeding back to us about how delighted they were to see Jet2 start to fly from Liverpool next year.”

So as we wait for its arrivals – and departures – in and from Merseyside, here’s everything we know so far…

Who is Jet2?

Jet2.com and Jet2holidays is the UK’s largest tour operator and its third largest airline.  Liverpool John Lennon Airport will be the 11th UK airport it will be operating from.

When will Jet2 start services at JLA?

Bookings are already being taken – and said to be doing well – for flights and holidays taking off from JLA from March 2024.

The first flight from the airport will depart on Thursday, March 28 – just in time for the Easter holidays.

How many flights will it be operating?

In the first summer (2024) it will operate up to 54 weekly flights, including 12 to both the Canary Islands and the Balearic Islands every week.
