Fiesta Bombarda is bringing another huge party to Liverpool this September

Following their birthday celebrations this summer, Fiesta Bombarda are set to return to Liverpool in September for a packed night at Constellations in the Baltic Triangle.

Fiesta Bombarda have announced that the legendary ragga deejay, General Levy will headline.

Few people have contributed as much to the urban music scene in the UK as General Levy. Reggae and black culture has come to define what he does and the sets he plays, as does soul and ska, hip hop and calypso, and even more sounds besides.

Samurai Kip

Becoming one of the most in demand MCs of his generation, having put out singles like ‘Tell Me Why’ and ‘You Can’t Hurry Love,’ he has since worked on independent reggae labels such as Fashion Records. Levy has collaborated with the likes of Sly & Robbie, Shaggy, Sting, International and Artful Dodger, as he remains a true stalwart of the UK urban music scene.

Laid Blak

Keeping the party going throughout the night will be Laid Blak, one of Bristol’s most exciting and most loved live bands. The Laid Blak sound takes massive inspiration from ska and reggae, but has often been described as ‘street soul’.

The Remy Jude Ensemble

The group’s influences are broad, and represent sounds that define the eclecticness of Bristol music, from reggae, to dancehall, soul, hip hop, funk and jazz, whilst of course never forgetting their jungle heritage.

Support on the night comes from beatmaker, poet and rapper, Remy Jude and his indie jazz super-group, which continues to make waves across the UK. Fusing jazz and hip hop together, The Remy Jude Ensemble will explore a multitude of improvisations throughout the night at Constellations.

Samurai Kip

Joining them on the line-up are Liverpool’s own Samurai Kip, a quartet that join funky grooves with afro-western guitar melodies and jazz club trombone as well as Banana Hill, purveyors of Afrocentric dancefloor sounds past, present & future.

With further support from the likes of  Buddha and Spektrum x Rum Riddimz Run hosting more carnival stages, the night in the Baltic promises to be one to remember.

Fiesta Bombarda’s Constellations Carnival takes place on Friday 20th September and tickets are available via Skiddle here.
