Got your heart set on being crowned the best dressed on #FabulousFriday at Aintree this year? Then read on….

Fashion Stylist and Grand National Style Award Judge, Lorraine McCulloch is back at Aintree to find her ‘Best Dressed’ race-goer on Ladies Day and she stopped in to tell our Kate more about what it takes to be crowned a winner. To take part in this years Style Award competition, simply get yourself down to the racecourse between 10:30am and 2pm on Ladies Day and get your photo taken against one of the blooming #FabulousFriday flower walls, situated at the main gate and Red Rum Garden. New for this year, 7 style scouts will also be scouring the entire Grand National site, looking for their best dressed, so there’s no need to miss any course-side action while you enter.

Ladies Day Prize – Range Rover Evoque

With a huge prize package up for grabs, including a Range Rover Evoque worth £35k, hair and beauty products from Barbara Daley, vouchers from official sponsor, OUTFIT, and much more, someone has to win it, and we’ve got some insider hints and tips from the Scouse Style Queen to share with you.

Here’s 5 top tips to stand out from the crowd on #FabulousFriday…….

1 – Have Fun with Fashion

Lorraine explained: ” This is the one time of the year where you can just go crazy and have fun with fashion….and be a bit more outlandish.” Hand’s up who’s gone all out and bought a huge hat, sassy sunnies or matched up with your girl squad for maximum effect? Will vintage or high street style rein at this years festival? You decide!

2 – Here come the Guys

The Grand National 2016

The Style Award competition is open to both women and men and Lorraine is looking forward to seeing some serious snazzy suit combo’s, she said: “I’ve seen guys wearing their suits with fur stoles and a top hat and a cane, I loved that look.” Lorraine is looking for anyone who has made a real effort to stand out and yet looks comfortable in their chosen outfit.

3 – Best Foot Forward

We all know what the Grand National is not the place to break in a brand new pair of shoes! Thankfully Merseyrail will be back handing out free flip flops at Aintree Station, but with the weather set to be overcast, you don’t want to be dodging puddles in sandals. Girls, get yourselves a cute little tote bag and throw a pair of flats and a brolly in, you’ll thank us later.

4 – Early Bird might just clinch the Prize

The Style Award competition opens at 10:30am on #FabulousFriday and those in the know advise getting your flower wall picture taken as early as possible, before any adverse weather, alcohol consumption of wardrobe malfunctions have the chance to spoil your fun. Say cheers!

 5 – Don’t Miss Your Call Up

Don’t forget to keep your eyes peeled on the big screens from 2:25pm when the finalists of the Style Award 2018 will be announced and asked to join the judges at the Parade Ring to chat about their chosen outfit. The winner of this years competition will be announce at 3:05pm and we can’t wait to see who the lucky guy or girl is!

We’d love to share your #FabulousFriday pictures from rollers prep to strutting your stuff through the main gates at Aintree.
