How to celebrate New Year’s Eve on Wirral

Not only are we saying goodbye to 2019, but we also bid farewell to an entire decade this New Year’s Eve.

There’s lots to do across Merseyside and as Wirral comes to the end of it’s incredible Borough of Culture year we thought we would shine a light on some of the places you can go to bring in 2020 in style.

The Wro

Nowhere quite puts on a party night like The Wro in West Kirby. Wirral’s multi-award winning neighbourhood bar and bistro has a fun filled NYE in store with a delicious gala dinner up in the Loft super-relaxed live music and canapes down in the bar all night long.

If you fancy starting the night with dinner, The Loft is offering a great value, luxury three course dinner with glass of fizz on arrival for just £45 or you can join in the fun down in the bar with live music from Monty and canapes flowing throughout the evening for just £15 pp.

Marine Street Social

Party 2019 away with DJs Anton Powers and Carl Williams at Marine Street until 4am!
Singer Marc Kenny will be getting the party started from 7pm with Anton hitting the decks from 9pm until 4am and bar closes at 3.30am.
Early bird tickets are sold out but there are still a few general tickets at £10 but they are selling fast!

Tickets are available here.

Devon Doorway

Enjoy an utterly sparkling NYE at one of Heswall’s most loved pubs. With its thatched roof and super-stylish interior, the Devon Doorway is the perfect place to rub shoulders with the Wirral glitterati and enjoy a super-stylish celebration with added fizz! The tasty NYE 3 course menu , which comes in at £65, is filled with luxury dishes including seared scallops, duck leg confit and the super-decedent chocolate and black cherry trio.

St Joseph’s Social Club (The Joey’s)

A legendary Birkenhead tradition – NYE at The Joey’s takes you back to the social clubs of yesteryear and boy do they put on a show. This year’s New Year’s Eve Cabaret looks set to be the best yet with the legendary Ricky Tomlinson hosting proceedings. Join the friendly S Joseph’s regulars for a full on, fun action packed evening filled with entertainment, laughter and of course, Auld Lngs Eye at midnight

Tickets sold from behind the bar at The Joey’s for just £20 each.

Thurstaton Hill

A time-honoured Wirral tradition and the best free NYE around. Wrap up warm and take a bottle of fizz or flask or something warm up to the top of Thurstaton Hill (behind the Cottage Loaf pub near Irby Village) and watch New Year break across Merseyside and North Wales. With panoramic views across the whole of Wirral, Liverpool bay and the Dee estuary, on a clear night you will get the most amazing firework display and you might even make some new mates as the atmosphere is pretty special.

Thornton Hall

Enjoy a four-course menu whilst being entertained by the amazing Mersey Boys at Thornton Hall’s famous Gala Dinner.

Post show the in-house DJ will take over to keep you on the dance floor all night and as tradition demands Haggis, Neaps & Tatties will be served just after midnight. Carriages at 3am.

Dress code is full on black tie glamour for this adult only event (£85pp) plus they still have some tempting accommodation deals available starting at just £185 per person (based on 2 sharing) which includes the event, accommodation, breakfast and full use of the award-winning spa facilities.
