LIMF 2019: De La Soul talk 30 years in hip hop and new music backstage at LIMF

Hey, how you doing? Hip Hop legends De La Soul brought the rhymes of a generation to LIMF 2019.

The LIMF 2019 line-up knocked our socks off when it was announced a few months back and we know for sure that this particular act pushed ticket sales through the roof. 30 years since their first album was released, De La Soul took to Central Stage with nothing but pure energy and the crowd went wild.

With lyrics that spoke to kids of the 80’s, 90’s and now, De La Soul have legions of fans that span an impressive age gap. Watch above as our Josh finds out about touring, new music and why festivals like LIMF are so important.

Festivals such as LIMF which are competitively priced means more people can see and enjoy their favourite acts, Posdnuos said: “At this stage in our careers, it’s always lovely to do festivals where you can see not only people who’s been with you since ’89 but like an 11 year old having fun and jumping around. He may have gotten into us through, like Gorillaz! It’s a beautiful time.

“Coming here to the UK at the beginning of our career, we always made it clear, a lot of our friends we’re going to London only and we were like no you gotta go all over like Liverpool always showed us so much love.”

“We’re working on new music, touring is always going to be there. We definitely have some new stuff coming up that we’re trying to keep the lid on right now but new music is definitely in the pipeline.”

Amazing stuff, we know there’s a whole load of fans, old and new thanks to LIMF 2019 who’ll be counting down to that!
