Morecrofts marks milestone 10th Domestic Abuse Conference in Liverpool

The full-day conference at Hilton Hotel Liverpool, which was supported by Torus Housing featured topics including survivor safety, workplace responses, technology-facilitated abuse, artificial intelligence, post-separation abuse, family court reform and ensuring children’s voices are heard.

The conference programme featured presentations from Jennifer Grayson of Torus Housing, John Williams of SWACA, Dr Gill Smallwood MBE of Fortalice, Detective Chief Superintendent Paul Lamb of Merseyside Police, Sharon Livermore MBE of Domestic Abuse Education, Emma Pickering of Refuge, Sarah Taylor of PEEPSA and Andrew Perrigo of Morecrofts Solicitors.

Jo-anne Lomax, Partner and Head of Family Law at Morecrofts Solicitors, hosted the day and facilitated questions. She said:

“Our 10th Domestic Abuse Conference was a great success and it was fantastic to see so many professionals from multiple sectors coming together to share knowledge, challenge thinking and strengthen relationships. The quality of the discussions throughout the day demonstrated both the progress that has been made and the collective determination to continue improving outcomes for victims and survivors of domestic abuse.

“At Morecrofts, supporting those affected by domestic abuse more than a job. We are committed to raising awareness, sharing expertise and working collaboratively with organisations across the sector to help drive change. Hosting this conference is an important part of that commitment.

“As we celebrate the conference’s tenth year, we are incredibly proud of how it has grown and the role it now plays in bringing together professionals who are passionate about making a difference. We would like to thank all our speakers, delegates and supporters for helping to make this year’s event such a success, and we look forward to continuing these important conversations in the years ahead.”

A key theme running throughout the day was collaboration. Delegates heard how meaningful progress depends on organisations working together to improve systems, share expertise and ensure survivors receive the support they need.

The Domestic Abuse Conference has become a well-established event in the region, providing a forum for professionals to learn, network and explore ways to improve outcomes for victims, survivors and their families.
