Scouse trio on ITV’s The Neighbourhood say ‘we’re in it to win it … and be nice!’

The Liverpool trio about to take part in ITV’s new reality show The Neighbourhood say they’re in it to win it – by being nice to everyone!

Twin sisters Lyndsey and Louise Scott, 25, and Lyndsey’s girlfriend Rosie, are The Scouse Haus in the 11-part series which starts on Friday (April 24).

Hosted by Graham Norton, it sees six families and households living side by side in a Derbyshire neighbourhood as they compete in a popularity contest for the chance to take home a £250,000 cash prize.

But instead of being ruthless in their pursuit of the win, Lyndsey, Louise and Rosie hope their secret weapon will be their Scouse warmth.

“We’re very friendly, we’ve got the time of day for everyone, always, and I think that’s like a natural superpower,” says Louise. “So we weren’t worried about being disliked because we know we’re not very disruptive or nasty people.

“And we’ve got the gift of the gab,” adds Rosie. “I think the only element we weren’t sure about was would we relate to everyone? Would people be drawn to hanging out with us? But we decided to take everything as it comes, throw caution to the wind and see what happens.

“Going into it we were adamant that we’d make sure the three of us were always having a good time, and we’d know how to deal with it if one of us wasn’t.”

Lynsey, Louise and Rosie have lived together in the city centre for nearly six years, so they’re hoping that compatibility will give them an edge.

“All of us know each other that well so we know each one of us will have good intentions,” says Lyndsey. “We always lead with a good heart so we felt like we didn’t have anything to worry about in terms of doing something wrong, and we do have that relationship where if anything was to come about, we’d keep each other in check.”

The three filmed the show last year, so they’ve had to keep The Neighbourhood a secret for months despite all having a big following on social media – Rosie as Rosie the Fearless, and the twins as lyndseyandlouise.

They say this particular reality series was ideal for them because it was something they could take part in all together.

“It’s like a mix of Big Brother and Traitors, but in a totally different way and it’s got that wholesome aspect to it as well so it was the perfect concept for us,” says Louise.

“Me and Lyndsey have been on Taskmaster before as part of a twin challenge, so we’re very spontaneous and don’t say no to things. It sounded fun, it was a fresh idea so we thought, let’s do it.

“We did very much go in having a laugh, and there were times we had to remind ourselves to think about a game plan, but when it came to the challenges, I’m definitely in it to win it.”

With one eye on the life-changing £250,000 prize the trio did draw up a ‘what if?’ wish list that included IVF, a deposit on a house and holidays, especially with Louise and Lyndsey’s mum.

Mostly, though, they hope they come across as authentic and always themselves.

“We deliberately chose the name Scouse Haus because Haus comes from the German that essentially means chosen family, so it’s used a lot in the queer community,” says Rosie.

“I feel like it resonates with us and I hope the Liverpool community and the queer community think we did a good job of representing because you don’t see a lot of us on screen.”
