The UK’s leading LGBTQ+ radio station Gaydio launches in Liverpool

Gaydio has launched on DAB Digital Radio in Liverpool.

The UK’s leading LGBTQ+ radio station Gaydio can now be heard across Liverpool on DAB Digital Radio.

Famous for playing the biggest up-beat dance and pop, the station also champions LGBTQ+ artists, and highlights stories about the UK’s LGBTQ+ community.

To celebrate the launch, Gaydio is partnering with LCR Pride for this year’s Pride in Liverpool which takes place from 26 July.

Listeners tuning in will hear some of the stations best-loved presenters with Paris & Dave on Gaydio Breakfast, serving big bops, huge guests and guaranteed giggles every morning from 7am.

Kriss Herbert and Chris Blackmore play the biggest tunes around to get you through the work day and Brett Harris serves chaos with a look at the latest trends and the biggest bops to wrap up your day.

In the evenings and on weekends, some of the world’s biggest DJs including Tough Love, MK and Tiesto, take over Gaydio and go in the mix alongside our Resident DJs; Craig Law, Jessie Brooke and Kate Meyher.

Gaydio says it isn’t just a station that broadcasts to the LGBTQ+ community, the team actively champion and support them too. The Gaydio Pride Awards take place each year for a huge night of red-carpet glamour and entertainment to celebrate the efforts made to bring Pride in all of its forms to all corners of the UK. Winners last year included Liverpool’s Emily Waldron, taking home the trophy for LGBTQ+ Young Business Person of the Year.

Speaking of the launch, Kriss Herbert-Noble, Network Content Director and mid-morning presenter said:

“It’s great Gaydio will be on DAB+ across Liverpool and more queer people can now tune in for the best in LGBTQ+ entertainment, news and of course music. We look forward to doing more with the LGBTQ+ community in Liverpool!”

Gaydio launched on DAB Digital Radio across Liverpool on this morning (15th July), you can also hear it by downloading the Gaydio app or by asking your Smart Speaker to ‘play Gaydio’.
