The Watering Can prepares for magical Mother’s Day

The Watering Can in Greenbank Park, is pulling out all the stops to make this Mother’s Day magical and memorable.

Offering an exquisite 4 course set-menu, carefully designed by the team of talented Chefs,  to celebrate all amazing mums on their special day, with pink fizz and nibbles on arrival as well as live music, this popular venue is sure to be top of many Mother’s Day celebrations this year.

Whether your ideal way to celebrate  is a leisurely  walk in 12 acres of beautiful parkland in Greenbank Park,  followed by a delicious feast, or a chilled-out lunch in beautiful surroundings with live music from spell-binding Dixie Daye and easy listening Berian Miles , The Watering Can has put together a magical Mother’s Day package for £40 per person.

The mouth-watering menu is packed full of seasonal  flavours with a glass of Prosecco Rose ‘Aregeo’ Ruggeri Brut 2021 on arrival and a selection of  ‘Nibbles’ including Gordal Olives and Sourdough bread and homemade crackers with whipped brown butter.

Mouth-watering starters include:-  Pan fried scallops with their coral, sweetcorn puree and charred sweetcorn nduja butter (GF),  Charred heritage carrot, carrot puree with ras-el-hanout, vegan labneh, pickled radish, toasted pumpkin seeds and chermoula (VG, GF).  If you like spice there are also Chicken tikka skewers, red onion and mooli salad, mango chutney, raita dressing on a flatbread (GF available), or choose the Whipped vegan feta, charred tender stem broccoli, chilli jam and toasted flaked almonds (VG and GF)

Main courses are equally sumptuous and include Pan fried seabream fillet, steamed Menai mussels, spring vegetables with a bouillabaisse broth (GF), everyone’s favourite Chicken supreme, in a tarragon, white wine, cream sauce, pon-neuf potatoes and asparagus wrapped in Parma ham (GF).  Alternatively there is a fantastic Lamb rump, pommes mousseline, green vegetable medley with mint butter and a red wine jus (£4 supplement), or an equally sensational vegetarian option of Wild mushroom and black truffle orzo pasta with a vegan parmesan crip (VG).

Save some room for dessert, as you would not want to miss any of them.  Take your pick from a Chocolate clementine torte, with Chantilly cream (V/GF), classic Sticky toffee pudding the Madagascan vanilla ice-cream (V), or The Watering’s Cans version of a classic trifle – Keith’s boozy sherry trifle (VG).

Live music will be performed in the main room, kicking off with the absolutely stunningly soulful sound of Dixie Daye from 1pm to 3pm, followed by the supremely talented Berian Miles who takes over from 3pm-5pm.

Owner Keith Perryman said “We are famed for our Sunday Roasts and perfect setting and a lot of our mums visit regularly to enjoy them.  For Mother’s Day we wanted to create something exciting with our special ladies at the heart of the day.  Our menu has everything, using local produce where we can and this year’s live music is absolutely perfect for Mother’s Day.  We have tried to ensure that Mother’s Day at The Watering Can will be a very memorable and enjoyable one”
