What’s On in Liverpool? Your guide to the week ahead (11th-17th September 2017)

Autumn is coming and so are the students, we’ve got your week in Liverpool, all planned out.
The city clubs are back with bouncing nightlife, there’s brand new menus, comedy nights, gigs, family fun and of course, one huge foodie party at Sefton Park, all taking place in Liverpool this week. We’re preparing our bellies for a weekend of fine food as the 10th anniversary Liverpool Food and Drink Festival rolls into town with tonnes of new attractions, plus international star, John Legend plays the Echo Arena and pirates and mermaids invade the docks!

Monday 11th September
Home-made Afternoon Tea at The Brink, Parr Street
It’s Monday afternoon, the weather is horrendous so why not enjoy a delicious, home-made Afternoon Tea at The Brink, Parr Street? How does a selection of finger sandwiches, including honey and mustard roast ham and butter-roast chicken, served with warm seasonal scones, plus double cream and strawberry jam and a selection of miniature cakes and pastries, sound to you? Don’t miss Cilla the Musical at the Empire Theatre
No word of a lie, if you’re a fan of either Merseyside history or music, Cilla the Musical is unmissable. Take a step back in time and watch Cilla’s fascinating story unfold, meet the stars of yesteryear and bust some moves to the very best of scouse musical talent. Ahh Cilla, what a legend. Tuesday 12th September
Scouse is always a good idea at The Chancery, Paradise Street
You know sometimes when you just need a good bowl of scouse in you to make the world a better place? Well The Chancery can sort you out. This bowl of deliciousness will put you right back on track, relax in the unique dining room and maybe pick up a nice bottle of wine from the deli shop for after work too! Menus and more here.

Since the release of her UK debut album âThere Are No Saintsâ earlier this month, Siobhan Wilson has been featured in Rolling Stone, DIY magazine and The Line of Best Fit and now you’ve got the opportunity to hear her perform at one of the city’s most intimate venues. More info here.
Wednesday 13th September
A knock-out midweek brekkie at Shiraz

Belly Dancing Classes with Elliot Clarke, Old Haymarket
Fancy doing a different type of exercise? Swerve the gym and have a giggle at Elliot Clarke Dance School, Old Haymarket as Belly Dancing with Tara kicks off its 10 week programme. Mica Millar single launch, The Buyers Club
Described by The MEN as ‘the next big thing’ Mica Millar launches her second single âNot The Firstâ at The Buyers Club this Wednesday evening from 8pm. Following her phenomenal first single ‘My Lover’ which left critics speechless, Mica will be performing with an eclectic 6-piece line up of musicians and supported by Little Grace and Neil Noa. Comedy at the Phil with Stuart Lee
‘Content Provider’ is Stewartâs first brand new full-length show since the award-winning Carpet Remnant World and follows four years of writing and performing his TV show Stewart Leeâs Comedy Vehicle. The Philharmonic Hall continues to be one of the best venues for comedy in Liverpool and these tickets are selling fast! Tickets available here.

Gin Festival at HUS, Tempest Building
Did someone say Gin Festival? HUS, Tithebarn Street loves a gin or two so they’ve lined up some fave gin suppliers and paired up some tasty nibbles to create their very own festival. 10th Anniversary Liverpool Food & Drink Festival, Sefton Park
We’ve been waiting since Easter for another instalment of the Liverpool Food & Drink Festival and this weekend the 10th anniversary festival is set to be bigger and better than ever. With more celeb chefs, diverse stalls, kids village, cookery demos and more taking place across the two days, there really is something for every one and every palate! Find out more here.
Liverpool Disco Festival 3 Launch Party, Camp & Furnace
Ahead of the 3rd instalment of the infamous Liverpool Disco Festival in October, Camp & Furnace is hosting ‘Don’t Walk, Boogie’ on Saturday 16th September from 10pm. We might just be Ordinary People but we CANNOT WAIT to see and hear John Legend perform at the Echo Arena this Sunday. Calling all Pirates, Mermaids and Sea Monsters, Pirates on the Dock is back!
Avast me hearties! Albert Dock is the place to be this weekend if you love a bit of maritime, family fun. Pirates on the Dock kicks off on Saturday and little ones can dress up, play games, get crafty and watch some real life pirate action across the waterfront. Botanical Garden Closing Weekend (sob)
See out the end of September and the last weekend of the Botanical Garden with three days of celebrations.
