Aintree Racecourse has announced the Ladies Day Style Award judges for the #FabulousFriday event on Friday 8th April at the 2016 Crabbie’s Grand National Festival.
The Style Award judging panel is made up of four stylish judges including Alex Longmore (@alexlongmore), the Crabbie’s Grand National Official Style Ambassador; Laura Wright (@thelaurawright), a Ladies Day ambassador and avid fashionista who will also be singing the National Anthem on Grand National Day; Andrew Collinge (@andrew_collinge), ambassador and award winning Liverpool based hairstylist; and Faye Mines, part of the John Lewis team in Liverpool ONE.
Alex Longmore, one of the UK’s top fashion stylists who has appeared on Britain’s Next Top Model and dresses A-List celebrities, will now be bringing her fashion expertise to one of the most anticipated days on the horse racing calendar.
Alex said: “I am so excited to be collaborating with Aintree Racecourse as their Style Ambassador for this year’s Crabbie’s Grand National. I am honoured to be flying the flag for this year’s fashion; offering advice and expertise on what to wear for the big day. I’m most excited about being one of the Style judges on the big day. It’s always such a fabulous fashion event and I hope this year’s Crabbie’s Grand National will be as bright as ever with some seriously chic outfits on show. Racing is close to my heart and I couldn’t think of a more special occasion than dressing for the races.”
Laura Wright, the classical singer and avid sports fan who’s renowned for performing at some of the world’s biggest sporting events in the world will participate in the judging panel for the first time.
Laura commented: “I am so excited to be part of Ladies Day 2016 as the event brings together both my love of sport and my love of fashion. Ladies Day is such a colourful day and it is wonderful seeing so many women really make the effort to look stylish and glamourous. Combined with the excitement around the racing itself, it is a really unique event that Liverpool should be very proud of.”
Andrew Collinge, Liverpool based award winning hairstylist will be returning to the Ladies Day Style Award judging panel and will be searching for stand-out competitors in the style stakes on Aintree’s #FabulousFriday.
And Faye Mines will make up a talented panel of judges for the £43,000 prize on Ladies Day. Faye works for John Lewis in Liverpool and will be representing the Crabbie’s Grand National’s official style partner, Liverpool ONE.
Faye, said: “‘At John Lewis, we’re looking forward to helping to style and dress thousands of this year’s race goers. Ladies Day is such an important day in the fashion calendar so I am delighted to play a part in helping to celebrate the fabulous flair race goers bring every year.”
Aintree recently announced the biggest ever Grand National Ladies Day Style Award prize for this year’s Crabbie’s Grand National, a prize worth over £43,000 which includes a white Range Rover Evoque, supplied by Hatfield’s Land Rover, worth more than £35,000 and £8,000 of prizes from Liverpool ONE.
On the day, ladies and gentlemen enter the competition by having a picture taken in a branded photo frame located in different areas of the racecourse. The judging panel will whittle down the entrants to ten finalists who will be invited onto the stage at the Red Rum Garden whereby a winner will be chosen by professionals from the fashion and style industry.
