Guide Live: We say goodbye to a Liverpool comedy icon, Sir Ken Dodd

It’s a sad day for Liverpool, for the world of comedy and in fact for millions across the planet as we say farewell to Sir Ken Dodd.

Starting his career over 50 years ago in 1954, Doddy has done it all. Up until a few months ago he was still on stage doing what he does best at the phenomenal ago of 90.

Kate & Jay reflect on his incredible career, and give you info on how you can also pay tribute to a comedy icon today in Liverpool.

Watch the full interview with our Jay and Sir Ken Dodd below, filmed Christmas 2016.

A book of condolence will be opened this morning at Liverpool Town Hall for people to pay their respects to comedy genius, and Freeman of the City, Sir Ken Dodd.

Lord Mayor, Councillor Malcolm Kennedy, will officially open the book at 11.30am.

It will be available for people to sign from 11.30am today until 5pm, 9am to 5pm Tuesday and Wednesday, 9am to 4pm Thursday and Friday, and 10am to 2pm on Saturday.

People can also email a tribute to town.hall@liverpool.gov.uk and it will be added to the book.

The flags at the Town Hall, St George’s Hall, Cunard Building and Central Library will fly at half-mast as a mark of respect.

We are looking for your memories of Sir Ken Dodd, and if you have any photos with him then please share and tag us in on Twitter, Facebook or Instagram.
