Guests flocked to Wheeler’s of St James’ restaurant on Kings Dock last night to raise much needed funds for Claire House Hospice, and the host for the evening was the boss himself. Revered Chef and Restauranteur, Marco Pierre White was in town supporting the charity, of which he is a patron, and had carefully curated a stunning three course menu especially for the occasion.
Passionate about raising awareness of the incredible services and care that Claire House Hospice offers children and their families, watch above as Marco sat down for a chat with our Kate as diners took their seats.
Guests were treated to a menu featuring a selection of dishes, including the seafood restaurant’s signature dish Oysters Rockefeller, which is inspired by the original 1800s recipe from Antoine’s in New Orleans, The Guvnors fish and chips and Cambridge burnt cream. Marco has also signed copies of his latest cookbook which was given free to those who attended.
Claire House Hospice has recently launched it’s newest centre on the site of an old monastery in West Derby, Liverpool. Although not yet a full hospice, the charity’s Liverpool site is able to offer day care services, counselling and complementary therapies, as well as a venue for its mums and tots and babies groups, and with the proceeds of fundraising activities such as Marco’s exclusive dinner party, Claire House will be able to support more children and families when they need it most.
