The restaurant, in Greenbank Park, has announced the much anticipated ‘Return of the Roast’.

The Watering Can are opening booking lines even earlier this year by popular demand for their legendary Sunday Roasts from 15 October through to Spring 2024.

The stunning venue nestled in the idyllic surroundings of Greenbank Park  has become a destination venue for a traditional roast with all the trimmings with customers booking weeks in advance to secure a table.

As in previous years the Watering Can have been inundated with requests for the ‘Return of the Roast’ which has been lovingly referred to as being “As good as ya ma’s” by many regulars on social media  and this year they are offering a mouth-watering 2 course menu for £26 per person.

Main dishes include roast free-range chicken supreme, pork and caramelised leek stuffing and Yorkshire pudding, 28 day aged roast rump of beef and Yorkshire pudding or the ever popular field mushroom, butter bean and mixed nut roast.  All served with roast potatoes, maple syrup and thyme roasted carrots, broccoli and kale and either meat or vegetable home-made gravy.

Alternatively, you can enjoy a Lamb rump with buttery colcannon mash, peas and pancetta and mint flavoured gravy, or black lentil and vegetable dahl, spinach, coconut served with a chapati.

This year also sees the addition of a selection of tastebud tantalising  home-made desserts including a traditional sticky toffee pudding with ice-cream and honeycomb, a flavoursome peach apple, cinnamon crumble with vegan custard, or a tangy lemon curd tart, Italian meringue and candied flowers.

Why not make the most of your Sunday by sampling some of the new aperitifs on offer or a boozy coffee?

“Our Sunday Roasts are incredibly popular with our customers travelling from miles away to enjoy them.  Since the beginning of September customers have been asking when they are returning and our ‘Roast Reservation Hotline’, as the staff affectionately call it,  is busier than ever before. ”
