Liverpool is gearing up for a huge weekend as thousands of people head into the city this Saturday 26 July to celebrate Pride and soak up everything the city has to offer. Merseyside Police has been working closely with organisers and local businesses to make sure everyone can enjoy the day of Pride in Liverpool...
We’re with @merseysidepolice this week to learn more about its hotspot initiative, which is focusing on reducing violence and anti-social behaviour in key areas. 🏙️
The aim is to create long-term change by supporting young people, building trust, and creating safer spaces for communities to live, work and socialise.
In the first video of our series, Jay chats with Superintendent Phil Mullally to find out what hotspot-targeted policing is.
Tomorrow we’ll find out more about the Hotspot programme and speak to some of the young people involved.
